Bonnie L. Whyte, Ph.D.
Director


Dr. Whyte received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and her Doctorate in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Internationally published in eating disorders, Dr. Whyte also specializes in a variety of medical psychology issues. She is active in treating young adults, adults, and senior adults. She is a consultant to the Cancer Care Center and Cystic Fibrosis clinics at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Dr. Whyte is a member of the American Psychological Association, Illinois Psychological Association, International Academy of Behavioral Medicine, Counseling and Psychotherapy and National Association of Sports Psychologists.

Melissa Ackerman, Psy.D.

Dr. Ackerman received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of Denver. She received her Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology - Alameda campus. She is a generalist who works with people across the lifespan and specializes in children, adolescents and families. Dr. Ackerman also has extensive training and work experience in treating individuals who have a history of trauma (physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and/or neglect as a child). Dr. Ackerman is a member of the American Psychological Association.

Kelly Ann Pariso, Psy.D., LPC

Dr. Pariso received her Doctor of Psychology degree from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Pariso enjoys working with adolescents, adults and senior clients. Her focus areas include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, stress reduction and personal growth. Dr. Pariso’s training and professional experiences have allowed her to develop integrative and flexible therapy approaches tailored to individual client needs. She has previously worked in a Joint Commission accredited trauma program, hospital settings and community mental health. Dr. Pariso is a member of the American Psychological Association as well as the Illinois Psychological Association.


Angela Clarke, Ph.D.

Dr. Clarke is a neuropsychologist who earned her doctoral degree from Palo Alto University in California. Dr. Clarkes specializes in providing neuropsychological and psychological assessments for adolescents, adults and seniors who may be suffering from a variety of conditions that affect cognitive or behavioral functioning. Evaluation of conditions such as attention deficit disorder, memory loss, traumatic brain injury, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, stroke related cognitive impairment, depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder are a few of the specialty areas of focus. Dr. Clarke works collaboratively with primary care as well as specialty physicians such as neurologists to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with cognitive or emotional concerns. Dr. Clarke is a member of the American Psychological Association, California Psychological Association and Illinois Psychological Association.

Jay Lewis, D.P.C., L.C.P.C.

Dr. Lewis received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi and his Doctorate in Professional Counseling from Mississippi College. Dr. Lewis has 15 years of experience in the healthcare field. Dr. Lewis utilizes cognitive behavioral strategies and emotion focused therapy techniques to assist clients with experiencing positive change in their lives. Dr. Lewis specializes in depression, anxiety, addiction disorders, marital issues, and weight management Dr. Lewis feels that joining with the client in working toward their personal goals is the cornerstone of his therapeutic style.

Ailsa K. Nielsen, PsyD, LCPC

Many people experience the need for collaborative therapeutic assistance at one time or another in their lives. Episodes of depression and anxiety can limit one’s life satisfaction. Experiences of trauma can often have a long-term impact on people. I look forward to being on a journey with clients as they discover solutions and resolve issues that are impeding their ability to have a satisfying and peaceful life. I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and a graduate certificate in Art Therapy. I have also completed the 2-year Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Certificate at the Institute for Psychoanalysis. I have strong experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders and relationship issues.
